Support for Construction of Compost Pit for income generation and organic farming by a small farmer

People who are living near the protected forest area are exploring the forest for livelihood and other benefits and are destroying the forest. The project will provide a pit for making compost manure. Using this manure they will avoid chemical fertilizers and grow organic grain and vegetables.

They are not using these things for manure and when they are unable to get proper production from the field they go to forest to cut the wood and sell it for earning money. This is very much beneficial support for farmers. This programme is developed to support farmers for organic farming and increase their crop production.

The programme is successfully going on since last three years. We have supported more than 60 farmers through project and individual donations. If they will produce organic product vegetable they will have option to sell at higher prices.

This pit not only improve productivity but this is small income generation activity by selling of compost manure and vermin wash. There is few criteria for selection of beneficiary i.e. Comes under BPL, 1.5 acre of land, having at least two cattle's, interested to maintain the pit and willingness to use only organic manure.

Organization normally supporting farmers by constructing pits, rough material purchased in bulk and trained mason constructing the pit. It is the beneficiary’s responsibility to fill the pit by cow dung, we provide worms only after this is done.
